Love Me Or Leave Me Episode 11 Recap

I thought and desperately hoped that Ji Qing discovering the truth would change things for the better but instead on the contrary it is flopping more than ever before. There is just something that is just not quite right with this drama, especially the storyline. It doesn’t know where it wants to go and with all these characters who are given a prominent storyline, it just has too many directions where it wants to stretch itself to. As far as development goes, it is all over the place and there isn’t really much of it in terms for growth for the characters because frankly, they are quite one dimensional.

I think the Taiwanese audience agree that this drama is not enjoyable to watch because ratings have been flopping, having only broken 0.5 with the first two eps and falling thereafter.

I want to love this drama but no matter how hard I try I just can’t. It doesn’t captivate me or lures me to want to watch it. I will continue to watch it since I started it and would like to finish. However, I am going to do something that I have never done on this blog before and that is drop this recap. It pains me to do so because I have never dropped a recap before but I am going to have to because I just can’t find myself deviating even attention to recapping this, though I would happily continue to do so if there are readers interested (:

Hao Ming stops Sheng Hua and explains that he will reconsider his “marriage” to Shan Shan but it would be better if he can leave something good for Ji Qing with his remaining time and help a girl who is filled with hatred.

Hao Ming is solemnly accompanying Shan Shan bridal shopping. Shan Shan messages Ji Qing that she is welcome to attend her wedding tomorrow (now that’s a shotgun marriage!) and this dampens Ji Qing’s mood. She decides that she is going to go on an overseas trip.

Yong Xin is shocked and devastated to find that Sheng Hua has proposed to Yi Ren. She reveals that she was the one who got Sheng Hua’s culinary sushi chef to accept him so that she would be able to spend more time with him in Japan. Yi Ren chases after Yong Xin and tells her that she cannot compare to her but she and Sheng Hua love each other. She reiterates that she is forever Sheng Hua’s little sister and ask that she wish them happiness which she does. Yong Xin then asks Yi Ren if Sheng Hua would have chosen her if she did not exist. Yi Ren answers that he would, much to Yong Xin’s happiness.

Daddy Ji finds Mummy Zhao and begs to see Shan Shan but Mummy Zhao does not allow him to do so. However, she caves in after seeing him kneel for so long. He finally manages to see Shan Shan and tells her that he is willing to use his life to pay for her damage but ask that she not harm Ji Qing. She tells him that he can never pay for the damages which he caused.

It’s wedding day and Mummy Zhao tells her daughter that she is extremely worried for her. Shan Shan decides to tell her the truth that Hao Ming has leukaemia and has two years to find the appropriate bone marrow. This gets Mummy Zhao even more worried but Shan Shan assures her that she does not regret her choice.

Hao Ming asks God that if love is a kind of responsibility, then is what he is doing taking responsibility for love? Daddy Ji arrives and slaps him for him abiding by his promise that he made.

Ji Qing leaves for her holiday with Zhe Mei (like, wth, weren’t they enemies?) and says good-bye to the house as well as her relationship with Hao Ming for good. Upon arrival to the airport, she meets Ai Wen who reveals to her that Hao Ming has leukaemia (finally!).

Before Hao Ming and Shan Shan is able to seal the deal in their marriage, they are interrupted by the arrival of Ji Qing. She tells him that he is hers and he melting, wanting to be by her side but resists telling her that he can’t because he only has three months to live. That’s when Ai Wen reveals that it is all a lie. Hao Ming asks Shan Shan why she did this and she admits that this is only way to take him away from Ji Qing and plus, this is what Ji Qing owes her. Ji Qing apologises to Mummy Zhao but slaps Shan Shan for being so selfish. Shan Shan tells him that he loves him and would do anything for him (wth?) but Hao Ming is not happy her and leaves with Ji Qing who has forgiven him.

Ji Qing immediately drags Hao Ming to see the doctor who informs him that if he accepts therapy he will be on his way to full health. They return home and Hao Ming apologises to Daddy Ji and tells her that he is confident now because previously he was not sure if Ji Qing can face this with him so he is not going to let her get hurt again.

After some explanation, coodling and coaxing, Hao Ming and Ji Qing forgives Hao Ming.

Mummy Zhao has a talk with Ji Qing.

The two family make piece and Hao Ming decides not to get married yet, at least until he is well again after surgery,

Of course Shan Shan gets fired and her mother is not impressed with her ways of achieving her so-called happiness. Her mother tells that after trust is gone comes disappointment. However, she is not going to let this go because she loves Hao Ming (wth, since when did she love Hao Ming?).

Hao Ming and Ji Qing invite Zhe Mei out to thank him while he gives them a talk on how valuable love it. He warns Hao Ming that if he hurts Ji Qing again, he will be the by her side. Zhe Mei questions Hao Ming if he would really have not went to save Ji Qing when she “drowned” if he did not save her in time. Hao Ming sweetly replies that he wouldn’t because even if he has to risk his life he is not going to let Ji Qing get hurt.

Ji Qing organises a very sweet and healthy romantic dinner for Hao Ming. They have a fun time rekindling with each other.

Ji Qing is actively hoping that she may be pregnant and recalls Mummy Fang telling her that if she has a child with Hao Ming, the child’s bone marrow will be suitable to save him.

As Sheng Hua and Yi Ren is saying goodbye to their sushi shop, Yi Ren gets a call that Duo Duo is running a high fever. They take her to the hospital to discover that she has contracted pneumonia. Of course Da Shuai is not happy with Sheng Hua and Yi Ren’s negligence and blames them for what has happened to Duo Duo.

Da Shuai and Yi Ren spend the night looking after Duo Duo while Ji Qing actively tries to get herself pregnant.

My Opinion:

I am super duper disappointed with this ep. I am so disappointed that no words can match up to my disappointment. You would think that something as big as the truth being revealed it would create a big change to the storyline but inside this drama is stepping backwards to where it all began. It just doesn’t hold any connection with me as a viewer. I just don’t feel…well, I don’t feel anything for this OTP. I know I should be feeling happiness or joy that they have gotten back together but frankly, I have lost interest as a couple. In fact, so much so that I don’t even care as to how their relationship ends up, or who they end up with. I just wanted this ep to change the way that I feel towards the couple but I just can’t see to do so.

It is either the same Taiwanese drama world or I just tend to pick up the crap and messy dramas. I thought that Alice in Wonder City (AKA Giving Alice a Miracle) was bad but this one is worse. At least that drama kept me watching to see how messy it could get but this drama has just left me emotionless. I don’t feel anything watching this drama and trust me even if you feel asleep watching this you would not miss a thing! However, I am going to continue watching it for the sake of doing so.

I am a huge fan of SETTV/TTV dramas (a lot of my favourite dramas come from this company) and rarely have they ever gone wrong but when they do it drops rock bottom and this drama is one of these. What happened!? This drama has just gone wrong in almost every single way possible. From the plot to the development and even to the characters themselves, nothing that been right for this drama.

I am sure for those who read my recaps you will be able to stop how messy this drama purely by reading my recap with out watching the drama. Even as I write it I notice how separated each scene is. Each scene comes as a one sentence recap with no further development. And it just stops there. I hope for it to give me some explanation but it never comes. It just stops and changes scene really abruptly.

The characters are vital to any single drama and this one was no exception. Dramas tend to work with leads, second leads and supporting cast. However, this drama made some switches to the traditional way of how characters are supposed to work and thus this lead to a complicated and messy storyline. What I see with this drama is that there are two separate groups of characters. There is group one which consists for Ji Qing and Hao Ming as the leads while Shan Shan is the second lead. Then there is group two which consists of Sheng Hua and Yi Ren as the leads while Da Shuai is the second lead. And when two jobs whose storyline does not bridge with each other forcibly come together, well, that creates unnecessary characters. Shan Shan makes an appearance and then never appears until she is called for much like that of Da Shuai.

This drama had huge potential to rise in ratings. It is fresh and innovative but it messed up in its storyline, characters and everything else in between.

I just want to clarify that I have not bad mouthing this drama but I am purely expressing my opinion. I am just disappointed with this drama, full stop.

Too bad the drama didn’t turn out to be that good, especially when it was sorta hyped up in the beginning and is even getting consistently subbed. I also feel kinda bad for Tiffany because it’s her chance to be the leading lady but the drama isn’t going so well..

Yeahhh, Chris Wang and Tiffany Hsu are great actors but the storyline just doesn’t work for them.
I was really hoping that the storyline would take a turn and head uphill but instead it continues to fall downhill.

I know! Tiffany can be a great leading lady but this drama is not allowing her to shine!

I usually don’t comment but here goes; This was very well written as well as the plot. You will laugh and you will cry, but the depth of love is never ending. Not being of Asian decent I enjoy the differing perspectives brought by the dramas that my usual American shows do not offer. I fell in love with almost all of the cast and those I didn’t, that was the intent of the writers. For Tiffany Hsu, she is absolutely beautiful, but I’m sure she already knew that. This is a must see, 5 star. Beware though, it will break your heart! Sorry my post is so late, but that’s American TV (Hulu) for you.

Wow, I loved this drama. Of course, I got to see it in its entirety from start to finish. If you want a fairy tale show, this is certainly not for you. This was written more like real life–messy and without a “happy ending.” I went from laughter, anger, tears and finally to a pain in my heart that, “literally” almost brought me to my knees. Real life is a full of changes and side stories. Some of the choices we make, seemingly minor, can turn into life and death consequences. Forgiveness is given to one I really had to force myself to accept, because it was more than I think I would, in reality, be able to give. Truthfully, I wasn’t prepared for the ending…it broke my heart. Maybe you need to live a little more of your life before you try to judge this type of program. Stick to the “fairytale” shows with the predictable “happy ending.”
