It wasn’t that long ago since Aaron Yan did a drama for SETTV when he paired with Puff Guo for the Friday drama Just You and thanks to the popularity with that drama, this time he has earned himself the prestigious prime time Sunday slot. SETTV was going to strike while the iron is hot like they did pairing Annie Chen and George Hu for two consecutive dramas and have him pair with Puff again but Puff couldn’t step up for it due to prior commitments with her virtual hubby of Super Junior‘s Heechul on We Got Married Global Edition Season 2. So instead Puff’s bandmate Tia Li will be taking up the position instead. Puff’s got a busy year ahead because right after WGMG, rumour has it that she will be filming Love Meets Cupid with Jasper Liu, the drama that is to follow after In A Good Way. Noooooo, it’s hitting home that IAGW will be ending soon! Oh, on a sidenote, IAGW has been extended from 21 eps to 24 eps. 😦 Okay, back on topic, FILWM is one of your typical idol dramas, following a tried and tested formula. If it’s going to work, it’s going to be the acting and chemistry that takes it home and not the storyline and frankly, I am a bit iffy about this drama. I love Aaron, there is no doubt about that, and he has progressively improved with his acting skills over time whereas the same cannot be said for his leading lady. Tia just doesn’t hit the spot. She has the pretty face and seductive voice but that does not transfer to her acting skills. I’ve seen her in Office Girls and Miss Rose but I couldn’t bring myself to like her despite her sweet character in MR. I’m not sure how she will fair leading a drama but hopefully she will have chemistry with Aaron because chemistry is something that can break or make a drama.
The synopsis isn’t all that appealing and neither is it fresh but the thing with dramas is that plot lines gets recycled over and over again. Aaron plays, again, one of those calculating and demanding bosses that will have a different side of him come out when he meets the girl who will completely change his life. Except this time Aaron will be playing a two-faced character (literally) and will be colliding paths with Tia’s character who will help to show a different side to him. Not that he needs any more revealing since his character is a two-faced, ha. So the plot is not all that appealing and neither is the couple but who knows, everything can change with time! You can only wait and see!
FILWM is about Lu Tian Xing (Aaron) who is renowned in Asia’s advertising industry but suddenly at the peak of his career, at a press conference he announces a three month break from this competitive world. He then takes on a disguise and re-surfaces under the name of Xiao Lu. During a vacation trip, he encounters Tao Le Si (Tia), a young woman who also works in the advertisement industry. She promised her late brother to protect his advertisement agency and legacy but unfortunately business doesn’t do too well under her hands. She falls into a battle with Tian Xing to stop her company from being sold. Xiao Lu walks into her office doors and she thinks that he is the Tian Xing who she first met but the personality of the two men are complete polar opposites. She finds herself falling for Xiao Lu’s warm and tentative personality but little does she know he is holding a very ground breaking identity secret. Will there love last the line when she discovers his secret and will he be able to return to his former high profile?
The teasers and trailers are out and frankly, they’re bit of a disappointment. It just doesn’t give off that vibe to pull you into wanting to watch it. I’m saying that it doesn’t make you completely held off by it but rather, it doesn’t have any enticement to it. These are only snippets of the drama so it can be very misleading and hopefully for the drama’s sake it is! Well, there is always Aaron if anything. I mean who would get bored of staring at that pretty face for one and a half hours? FILWM is set to air the week after Déjà Vu and I’m sure most would be happy to see something fresh on screen after having the draggy DJ on for 22 so weeks. Anyway, do check out the teasers and previews to see for yourself. (:
Aaron and Tia’s Invite to Watch Fall in Love With Me:
Aaron and Tia’s Media Press Interview:
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: The two different sides of time, you fell in love with both of me.
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: This is me and this is also me. The two different me; you fell in love with both of me?
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: I want to have a peaceful night.
Tao Le Si: Lu Tian Xing! You are Lu Tian Xing, right?
Tao Le Si: You are very cute like this.
Guy speaking to Tian Xing: Lu Tian Xing, you are the face of our Tian Ji. You need to be there for us to have the case in our hands.
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: Don’t forget, I am still on break. … Calm down. I am here for a vacation.
Guy speaking to Tian Xing: We have retrieved back the case.
Tao Le Si: How can you casually snatch away one’s hard efforts?
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: I can explain.
Tao Le Si: I am very disappointed. I can’t even withhold the one case that OZ left behind.
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: I’ve decided to temporarily stop all my advertisement jobs until I can find the enthusiasm for it again.
Tao Le Si: You are very cute like this. … You are…?
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: I am Xiao Lu, Lu as in Bambi’s “lu” (as in Bambi’s antlers). But you look very similar to the advertisement king Lu Tian Xing.
MC: Let us welcome Lu Tian Xing.
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: Even if Tian Ji does not fight for OZ’s case, there will be others who will fight for it. … You are fated to fail.
Tao Le Si: The more that he puts me down, the more strength that I have to let that jerk know that I am not a weakling.
Lu Tian Xing “Xiao Lu”: Actually, having the case snatched away is not a bad thing after all. Every time something bad happens, there will always be something good that happens.
Tao Se Le: Then how long do you have to wait for that good thing to arrive?
Check out this adorkable poster which reads “I am called Xiao Lu!! Lu as in Bambi’s “lu”(as in Bambi’s antlers)!!”
