Mike He and Ady An’s New Drama Go, Single Lady Premiered Yesterday

Image and video hosting by TinyPicThere’s quite a lot of Mike He to go around on-screen with his new drama Go, Single Lady having premiered last night on Zhejiang Network (it’s undubbed!) following the ratings hit melodrama Loving, Never Forgetting which starred Jerry Yan and Tong Li Ya. GLS is a pre-filmed drama having been shelved for just under a year, coming from a joint collaborative effort between Taiwan and China. I have a particular fonding for these collaborations since I really have enjoyed the ones which I have seen (I have seen much though). GLS is a rom-com about Mike who plays a rich chaebol heir who falls into a dire financial situation who his family enterprise goes bankrupt overnight. Now without the financial support that he grew up having, he finds himself doing all sorts of odd jobs. He comes across a nouveau riche pig farmer’s daughter played by Ady An who is trying desperately to break into the upper class (hence the tentative Chinese title 上流俗女 which translates to Upper-Class Common Girl). They have clashing personalities but they work together to achieve their dreams of breaking into upper class and in the process, they end up falling for each other. It’s typical rom-com drama but I like this and having seen the trailer and BTS footage, Mike and Ady are hitting it with the chemistry which is much needed for a rom-com.

I really enjoyed Mike in the Taiwan-China collaboration on the drama Sunny Happiness but sadly, Mike’s roles thereafter have been quite a dud. Hopefully it won’t be the case here since I really do like him. In addition to GSL back home in Taiwan, he is also starring in the Sunday drama Say I Love You where he plays a very different role to his chaebol character in GLS. In SILY, he plays a single father who hits the dumps but meets Alice Ke who helps him to revive his career and see the better of the night.

So yes, there’s quite a lot of Mike He to go around. Whether it be that you like watching him play arrogant and cold chaebol heirs or you want to watch him play a father (it’s not his first time though since he also played a father in Sunny Happiness), you can be sure to catch Mike around! With two of his dramas airing in close proximity, there’s sure going to be quite a few different ships to sail on!

Have Ady & Mike co-starred together before? I think this OTP will probably draw a lot of attention since there are plenty of Ady & Mike fans. But I’m disappointed that Mike He is playing yet another rich guy character. T_T”

Nope, it’s their very first collaboration. At least he is playing a different kind of character in Say I Love You.

I think it sounds like a good pairing even though they haven’t collaborated together before. I don’t know why, it just sounds like it’d be good heheh.

Yeah have you tried out Say I Love You? I hope Alice Ke will improve her acting in that drama as well..especially after Dragon Gate. >_<

Yuppp, they do have good chemistry together. (:

Nope! 😦 I’m pretty sure she will! She plays quite a different character this time around too. Hopefully that allows her room for improvement.
