Refresh 3+7 Episode 10 Recap

Firstly, I want to wish everyone a happy new year and say a huge thank you for all the support that I have received in the past year. So here’s my first post for 2013 and what a great way to start off the year. When I first started watching Refresh 3+7 I was super duper eager to see this ep and now it is finally here! I had high expectations for this ep, especially knowing that Ady An would be in it. I loved her ever since I saw her in Autumn’s Concerto and here she shows exactly why I love her.

Yaaayyy, I am so happy! I found this is 720p which means great pictures! It seems like the better eps of the series comes in better quality, ahahahas! But I must say, even if you have not seen the previous eps and have no intentions of doing so, this ep tops it all and is good stand-alone ep to watch. This is a great one-off ep as well as being a great ep to unite the series. I loved this ep, it was such a splendid ending for the series as well as being a great drama start for 2013. Just a beautiful way to end the series as a whole and it does a lot to tie each of the 10 eps together. It was short, sweet and bright.  Continue reading

Refresh 3+7 Episode 9 Recap

This wasn’t one of my favourite eps, not by far. It was quite slow paced and for 35 minutes one-off ep, I would expect the development to be quite progressive. The first half was quite draggy and was an overly long introduction. The real detail didn’t appear until the latter half and even then it all felt very loose and doesn’t seem to make much sense. Though, the storyline is quite touching here about a change for the better. Continue reading

2012 End of Year Drama Review

This year I opened myself to different dramas as well as different genres of dramas. There were some ups and some downs and there were some surprises. I haven’t seen as much k-dramas, c-dramas and tw-dramas as I would have liked so my new years resolution for next year is to watch more dramas outside of hk-dramas. As I do not watch k-dramas, c-dramas, dormas/j-dramas and tw-dramas as often as I watch hk-dramas, I tend to be picky with what I watch and usually I would pick up dramas that I find interesting or  appealing to my tastes.

This year I managed to watch some dramas that were really up there as well as a few that fell below the radar. I found myself jumping back into the c-drama bandwagon after a long overdue hiatus and for those that I watched, I found it bombarded with tw-actors/actresses which is probably why I am drawn to them in the first place. Ahahahas! This year, I ventured out into doramas for the first time (yay!) and I was ever so glad I did because this drama literally blew me away and makes me ready to jump into doramas. With hk-dramas, there were a few that I loved but there was only which I loved everything from top to bottom and in between. Even until today I am still swooning over it. I was quite picky with my k-dramas so all in all, I was satisfied with what I watched, though this year with what I watched I find it in high standards of all sorts. Lastly, with tw-dramas, nothing really blew my socks off and I wasn’t overly excited for any one drama so this year for me, I wasn’t too happy with the offerings of tw-dramas when compared to last year’s share. Refresh 3+7 Episode 8 Recap

Sadly, we are back to 360p quality pictures. Sorry! I did all I could to find a better quality video but I couldn’t find one. Hopefully the pictures aren’t that hard to see.

This ep was strong in its concept but lacked a bit in the execution of it. There were various scenes where it felt like it was trying to force Ah Yong to take centre stage when Wang Lu was clearly the one at centre stage. The execution was strong on Wang Lu’s behalf but fell weak on Ah Yong’s behalf.

Though, I really enjoyed how this ep conveyed the message of having a good conscience and what it means to truly live a healthy life.

Wang Lu (Alice Tseng) calls number after number with phone after phone but everyone quickly hangs up on her one by one. Continue reading

Refresh 3+7 Episode 7 Recap

Yay, yay, yay! I found a video of great quality (720p) so that means clear pictures! So yay, yay, yay! Anyway, this is another great episode. I actually really enjoyed that it was told from a guy’s perspective because it just feels that this story is made to be told from a male’s perspective, from Jia Hua’s perspective. I really like this ep because the story is not about find love or about something that is unrealistic but rather it was everything realistic about chasing your dreams and really, Jia Hua went on quite a ride to realise that happiness was and is always in his hands. There is always repair to destruction! Continue reading

Refresh 3+7 Episode 6 Recap

This ep is definitely not one of best eps of this series. It was not all over the place but there were many elements that just did not feel right. It doesn’t flow in terms of an episode. There were many elements that just felt like it was not meant for this. Even our leads here have their faults and there is something that just can’t connect them together, not even a little bit.

A girl, Jiang Li (Lin Yuan) – 20 years old, 164cm tall, graduated from Shi Chuan Movie College, can sing and dance – auditions for a show. She demonstrates her singing and dancing ability using a famous chinese poem but the directors are unimpressed and tell her to leave even though she has not finished her performance. She goes outside and settles down to eat her lunch when her mother calls. She assures her mother that she is fine and even landed the role. When she returns back to eat her lunch, she fines that a bird has done their business on it. Continue reading

Refresh 3+7 Episode 5 Recap

Sorry for the bad quality of the images! I looked and looked trying to find a better quality video but I couldn’t find it any where. 😦

I loved this ep, it is probably my fave ep so far. Everything spectacularly works so well together! The plot was just wonderful, it was so meaning and have so much depth that everyone can relate one way or another. It gives this moral a new meaning and shows how life is destined to be. When I watch I just help but realise the carefree style of this yet it teaches so much. This ep really has got to be the best by a long mile in terms of the brilliance of it.  Continue reading

Refresh 3+7 Episode 4 Recap

I’ve never heard Jessica speak Mandarin before so it’s quite nice to hear her do so. Her Mandarin is really nice for a native Cantonese speaker. She doesn’t have a very strong accent when she speaks Mandarin so that’s all good. It was really refreshing to see her in an emotional role where she actually opens up because in Tiger Cubs her character was very isolated. The storyline is very subtle and the themes here is really nicely in sync, and goes to show that not everything has to be worked up.

The storyline is actually very sweet. Shen Dong goes from just being there for money to becoming a friend a person who pities her in a matter for two to three days. Though, I must admit Shen Dong is like an obstacle to Yu Jing’s life but he somehow changes from an obstacle to a path.  Continue reading

Refresh 3+7 Episode 3 Recap

I’m back guys! Sorry for not telling you that I was going to be away and sorry for the delay in recaps!  I truly am (: I’ve just been caught up in a pretty hectic time right now with school, exams and all. But, there is never a time without drama, now matter how hectic my life may be! (:

This micro-movie/mini-film is not something that you will go head over heels for but let me assure you, if you are one who is looking for short something that you can go “Wow” at in terms of the realistic and moral storyline, this is it. Each and every ep tells of something different and it all has a different moral within it. Usually I am not a big fan of dramas with morals, because iunno, I just want to watch and swoon over it, but something this half drama/half movie has moved me otherwise. I like that so much can be told in such a short 43 minutes. The development is so wonderfully done that it does not feel like it is even 43 minutes!

This ep is really different from the previous two in terms of its audience and subsequently, storyline. If you’ve watched the previous two eps, you would have realised that it was more lovey-dovey and cutesy. Here, it is the contrary and based more on the way of life and maturity matters.  Continue reading

Refresh 3+7 Episode 2 Recap

What a cute and sweet ep! I really like this pairing; they are so cute together! Their accents just complement each other so well. Ahahaahhas! Gaaahhh, I can’t help but ship these two! They are just so adorably cute together! They just look like they are made for each other. I love their encounters with each other and how they slowly grew fond of each other.

The introduction reminds me a lot of how majority of TVB dramas start off. Ahahahas! I guess you could say that this ep is a complete contrast to the previous ep but that’s okay because each ep holds a different story of its own. It is actually better that this ep is a contrast to the previous one to give it a coarse and indirect transition but yet its transition is in sync.  Continue reading
