Someone Like You Drops Long Trailer at Press Conference

Someone Like YouSomeone Like You released its 16 minute long trailer earlier yesterday at its press conference ahead of tomorrow’s premiere. While I am still a bit iffy with the plot, I quite like what I am seeing from the trailer! It’s a nice mix of cool tones with warm tones so that’s a positive sign. The cinematography is really nice just as the stills showed and the arrangement and drawing out of certain scenes are also really nice. The team behind SLY are putting in a lot of production effort to bring this drama piece to life and so far it is translating on screen. Continue reading

My Sunshine Releases Long Preview Ahead of Premiere

MSGu Man‘s popular internet novel Silent Separation (何以笙箫默) is finally arriving on-screens as My Sunshine after the successful novel-to-drama adapation of Come Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉來吃) into Boss & Me. My Sunshine premieres in just a few days on the 10th of January and I am hoping that it will capture the novel as nicely as Boss & Me did. My Sunshine is not as fluffy as Boss & Me but there is still lots of fluff about it but that comes with some angst to give the story a kick. My Sunshine released its 15 minute long preview earlier this week and I am quite liking what I am seeing except for maybe a few bits here and there with the leads Wallace Chung and Tiffany Tang having all the necessary chemistry. It’s not sizzling hot but it is there and will hopefully heat up as the drama progresses. Continue reading

My Sunshine Releases Cute Promo Materials Offering a Boss & Me Vibe

My SunshineLooks like I will be heading over to China for my dramas in 2015! So far I have two Chinese dramas that I really really really want to watch and they both so happen to star Tiffany Tang. Her first drama for 2015 will be My Sunshine (title recently changed from You Are My Sunshine) which is adapted from the popular online novel Silent Separation (何以笙簫默) by Gu Man whose other novel Come and Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) also got adapted into the successful drama Boss & Me. I’ve been saying that I would go and read Come and Eat, Shan Shan but I have been too busy for it. With all these dramas that I want to see in 2015, I really don’t have the time just yet. I guess I’ll stick with dramaing for now. 😛 Tiffany will be playing a romantic couple with Wallace Chung here. Continue reading

Someone Like You Releases Gorgeous Promo Material

Someone Like YouIt seems like SETTV is really taking out the big guns to revive its Sunday-night dramas which have not been performing so well in recent times. The promos for the upcoming drama Someone Like You which will take over Say Again Yes I Do (AKA I Do2) on the 11th of January next year is just soooooo beautiful to look at! The stills are some of the best that I have seen in a long while. It’s soft to the eyes and the colours work perfectly well together. I can’t get enough of it which is just as well because more keeps coming out. And I say keep them coming because who can say no to pretty visuals? Continue reading

Continent is Off to a Rocketing Start

Continent There’s a new movie on the block and it is on its way to knocking off its fellow competitors. It only premiered two nights ago in China on Thursday and on Thursday alone it grossed RMB 74.0 million which enough for it to knock Tiny Times 3.0 off its reign as king. It was only today that I heard about the release of Continent and I can’t believe that I didn’t hear about it sooner considering that it does star some big names both on-screens and off-screens. Directed and penned by multi-talented director, professional rally driver, screenwriter, blogger, author, singer and entrepreneur Han Han, Continent is a tale about three men from an East China island going on a road trip across the continent (hence the name, ahaha) while fulfilling some of their personal goals along the way. On the way they encounter a variety of people and they create numerous memories together but little did they that this journey would have completely changed the trajectory of their lives. Continent takes on a nostalgic path and really grips emotions through its intricate telling of friendship, affection and challenges that connects these three men together. Continue reading

Itazura na Kiss 2 ~ Love in TOKYO for September Premiere

Itazura na Kiss 2 ~ Love in OKINAWA

After what has been months and months of waiting for some people, Itazura na Kiss 2 ~ Love in Tokyo (AKA Mischievous Kiss 2), is finally here! The Mischievous Kiss franchise has been a huge success with not only the manga making a huge amount of sales but also the live-actions adaptations achieving huge success locally and abroad. Probably, on the mention of Mischievous Kiss, the couple comes to mind would be the undeniable chemistry between Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin in the Taiwanese adaptations back in 2005 and 2007. After the successes of both instalments, Korea dived into the franchise too giving it their own take. Last year, Japan decided to give this live-action a second shot after previously having created their own live-action adaptation back in 1996 with Itazura na Kiss ~ Love in Tokyo and that came off as a huge success with fans all over the world, me included, waiting impatiently for this second instalment. I watched INKLIT quite recently so it is still fresh off my mind and I enjoyed it quite a lot. It was all so-cute and just full of bouncy and cute moments and I am just lingering to see more of the relationship between the OTP. This sequel follows off from the prequel, following the married life of the OTP and their hurdles to better discover themselves and their love for one another. It’s typical rom-com territory but somehow on-screens, Mischievous Kiss just manages to bring on a special warm and fuzzy touch. Continue reading

Mike He and Ady An’s New Drama Go, Single Lady Premiered Yesterday

Image and video hosting by TinyPicThere’s quite a lot of Mike He to go around on-screen with his new drama Go, Single Lady having premiered last night on Zhejiang Network (it’s undubbed!) following the ratings hit melodrama Loving, Never Forgetting which starred Jerry Yan and Tong Li Ya. GLS is a pre-filmed drama having been shelved for just under a year, coming from a joint collaborative effort between Taiwan and China. I have a particular fonding for these collaborations since I really have enjoyed the ones which I have seen (I have seen much though). GLS is a rom-com about Mike who plays a rich chaebol heir who falls into a dire financial situation who his family enterprise goes bankrupt overnight. Now without the financial support that he grew up having, he finds himself doing all sorts of odd jobs. He comes across a nouveau riche pig farmer’s daughter played by Ady An who is trying desperately to break into the upper class (hence the tentative Chinese title 上流俗女 which translates to Upper-Class Common Girl). They have clashing personalities but they work together to achieve their dreams of breaking into upper class and in the process, they end up falling for each other. It’s typical rom-com drama but I like this and having seen the trailer and BTS footage, Mike and Ady are hitting it with the chemistry which is much needed for a rom-com. Continue reading

Fated to Love You Releases Long Preview

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI was so happy to have woken up to find the a long preview for Fated to Love You pop up on my newsfeed. Time sure does fly quick because before we know it, FTLY will be premiering tomorrow on MBC in the timeslot that was previously occupied by A New Leaf! The cast of FTLY held a press conference yesterday and also released a long preview. The preview is sweet and I just really love the vibes that it is channelling from the original. It looks spot on in taking elements from the original but it has enough of its own touch to stand out from being merely a remake. I like that aspect of it because even though this is a remake, I don’t want to watch something that is a carbon-copy of its sister. The preview sums up the events that will happen in the first ep and things get steamy between the OTP Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara. Despite coming from different socio-economic statuses, each have their reasons for being in Macau but both get a bit topsy-turvy and end up having a one-night-stand. As fate would ensure, a pregnancy happens and the OTP begin their relationship, except in quite the reverse order. Even though I have already seen the original one and know what will ensure, I am very excited to see how this remake will unfold. If things are as good as the preview shows then I will be very happy indeed. Continue reading

New Teasers and Posters for Fated to Love You Draws on the Fluffy Side

Image and video hosting by TinyPicMBC recently rolled out two new teasers and official posters for the upcoming rom-com Fated to Love You and it has really put on a big smile on my face and I really do hope that it will continue to do so! I am loving what I am seeing! I really hope that these are signs that drama will be great. Continue reading

Fated to Love You Drops Cutesy Teaser and New Stills

I don’t think I have been this excited about an upcoming drama for quite long while. The very first teaser for Fated to Love You and the official website with never-before-seen stills dropped today and that has just pumped up my excitation levels. The teaser is more like a CF than a teaser because this is a far cry from the drama’s storyline. The teaser features leads Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara sharing a cute bubbly picnic date which is just oh-too-cute for the eyes. He plays the guitar for her and rallies her for a romantic hug on the bridge which is filled with loads of electric energy passing between each other. It’s very cheesy but I really like it for it’s upbeat atmosphere. Continue reading
