I am on fire posting up previews this week! I am on time with this week’s previews and I am really enjoying this week’s ep. The drama is starting to pick up now and gripping onto the basis that was prequel. Thank goodness for this because it has been straying away from this for way too long. As a sequel, The Hippocratic Crush (AKA On Call 36 Hours II) not only has to present itself as a standalone drama, but it also has to carry across the atmosphere of its prequel. From ep 6 onwards, THCII wasn’t doing so well in this department but it is really starting to sink in now that we head on the final two weeks. As a sequel, I dare to say that this is one of the best that I have seen in recent years. THCII does not stack up to THC but as a sequel I feel that it is hold up really well as one. Now I am sad to know that this will end very soon.
Yay for reconciliation! I have been waiting for this ever since Fan Ji Yu/Yu Jai (Tavia Yeung) and Cheung Yat Kin/Yat Kin Tau (Kenneth Ma) had their big cooling off period. I have been complaining that their cooling-off period has been going on for way too long but despite this I quite enjoy the process that brings them together again. I love that their separation has brought them closer to understanding each other and loving each other. He constantly cared for her and made arrangements for for because he loves her but he has come to realise that this is not what love is; if he can’t understand her then he can’t ever truly love her. I’m glad that he has come to accept that and see things from her perspective. She is a strong woman and he needs to know that. It’s so cute how they set up combination numbers for each other to guess which really brings across memories of them writing letters to each other in the prequel. I love watching these cuteness from them and I can’t wait to see more now that they have reconciled, although not officially.
As I post up this post, I have not seen ep 22 or 23 yet but seeing ep 23 preview has made me so excited! Gahhhhh! Yat Kin Tau and Yu Jai sweetness! I seriously do not remember the last time that I have shipped a couple this bad! I honestly can sit for days just watching them two! I wonder what the wedding scene will play out to be like. I’m not sure whether it is a flashback scene or in present time but nonetheless, I can’t wait!
The more that I see of Lok Man Sang/Lokman (Lawrence Ng) and Heung Cin Yi (Tracy Chu)’s relationship, the more that I like of them. Their relationship is a really interesting one. I really how far they have come and the friendship that they have built. Cin Yi is learning to get over her dead fiancée and Lokman is helping her to remain strong. He constantly stands by her side and aides to her rescue helping her to see the brighter side of things. They both have had similar experiences and this helps to pull them together.
What do I have to do to remove Ce Hui Tung/Ce Ce (Eliza Sam) from my screen? Urgh! I am so sick of her! She is left, right and centre of my screen! She is everywhere! She is a useless character and takes up way too much unnecessary screentime. I wouldn’t mind so much about her presence if she has lesser screentime but she is EVERYWHERE! It would be better if the drama just placed her in as a patient. She just needs to disappear but sadly that is not going to happen since her illness is going to take place. So that means I have to spend more time dealing with her. Urgh!
I have been seeing complaints that this drama is focusing too much on the relationships and not on the medical aspect. While I might agree with this, I also disagree with this. THC was a medical drama with romance as the backdrop but THCII is a romance drama with the medical aspect as the backdrop. There might not have been has much doctor-patient interactions as THC but I do think that THCII is doing quite well in the medical aspect. It has touched upon a wide range of illnesses and this was something that the prequel lacked upon.
Check out the previews below, especially ep 23 preview! Ahh, I can’t wait until I get my hands on ep 23!
Lau Bing Chan/Benjamin: After this I will spend more time with you, okay?
Sum Wan Kam: I want to be a successful writer like Moon is.
Lok Man Sang/Lokman: Ai!
Dr. Chin: I heard noises in her lungs. I’m afraid that there will be trouble if the air bubble (in her lungs) has burst.
Cheung Yat Kin/Yat Kin Tau: If we directly tell her that she will go blind after we remove the tumour, I’m afraid that (her mood) might not be able to handle it.
Dr. Philip: Then what should I tell her? Or do you want me to hand the case over to you?
Yannis: I wouldn’t mind having a new mother.
Sing Zai: You want my mother to be your mother?
Chatter: One month after Amber’s fiancée died, Ben broke up with Amber.
Lau Bing Chan/Benjamin: I know I have really hurt her. This is my last chance to compensate for her.
Heung Cin Yi: It’s not like I will kill myself.
Lok Man Sang/Lokman: It seems like some very strong LP gas smell. Do you guys smell it? … Cin Yi!
Paramedic: The patient has inhaled a large amount of LP gas. All vital signs are normal.
Lau Bing Chan/Benjamin: Up until this point, I do not want things to go beyond repair.
Amber: If you think that I have a problem, you should leave me alone.
Hung Mei Suet: But this does not mean that you can fool the world.
Amber: Shut up! I didn’t make myself sick!
Cheung Yat Kin/Yat Kin Tau: At that moment while I was sitting in a wheelchair, I suddenly realised that you are much stronger than I had thought.
Fan Ji Yu/Yu Jai: I believe that you can do it.
Yeung Pui Chung/Onion: The person that I like is you. I have already done all that I could. I am just waiting for your move.
Cheung Yat Kin/Yat Kin Tau: We will now remove the AVM. … Try moving your right hand.
Fan Ji Yu/Yu Jai: I am really worried.
Amber: What is going on?
Lau Bing Chan/Benjamin: It is probably because your joint has been infected. You need to be admitted to hospital immediately.
Amber: I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die! I’m really scared!
Mum: I am talking about you performing surgery on Amber. Why force yourself if you can’t handle it?
Chatter: The heartbeat of the patient has dropped and blood pressure is rising.
Hung Mei Suet: Trust me, I will save the patient.
Sun Man Yuet/Moon: If you really feelings towards her then admit to it.
Ce Hui Tung/Ce Ce: She went to perform a farewell ceremony.
Heung Cin Yi: I am here today to say goodbye to him.
Lau Bing Chan/Benjamin: Mei Suet is going to go?
Cheung Yat Kin/Yat Kin Tau: Time to receive your present. … To me, you are an angel.
Some guy: You still have time. Cherish those around you.
Cheung Yat Kin/Yat Kin Tau: Are you willing to marry me?
